Fallout Shelter Show Mass: Gaming News Roundup: The Week’s Big Stories
This gaming news roundup covers five stories worth your attention. This story follows Fallout Shelter Show Mass.
- Fallout Shelter becomes a TV competition show.
- A Mass Effect petition passes 220,000 signatures.
- Minecraft arrives on Switch 2.
- Phantom Blade Zero reveals its trophies.
- Cyberpunk 2077 hits a new Steam peak.
Fallout Shelter Gets a Competition Show
Amazon is expanding its Fallout empire. As reported by Push Square, Prime Video will adapt the management sim Fallout Shelter as a competition series. It debuts on 13 January 2027.
The main Fallout series already has two seasons. Amazon clearly wants more from the brand.
The game puts you in charge of a vault. You feed citizens, build rooms, and keep everyone alive. That loop maps neatly onto a reality format with teams and challenges.
Still, details are thin. Expect more news before January.
The Mass Effect Petition Skips BioWare
A Change.org petition to save Mass Effect now has about 220,000 signatures. Rock Paper Shotgun notes the text never names BioWare. It hints at “recent revelations” instead.
The petition also suggests giving Mass Effect 5 to another studio. That detail matters. Fans seem to separate the franchise from the team that built it.
EA is unlikely to bend to a petition. Even so, 220,000 names show real demand. Publishers notice that kind of number.
Minecraft on Switch 2: A Solid Upgrade
Minecraft has seen roughly 20 ports since 2011. Nintendo Life says the Switch 2 version improves on the aging Switch release. It adds no big new features, though.
The core game remains deep and creative. The reviewer misses a mouse mode, however. That feels like a missed chance on hardware that supports it.
If you own a Switch 2, this is the best Minecraft Nintendo has offered. Owners of the older version should upgrade for performance alone.
Phantom Blade Zero Trophies Go Live
Phantom Blade Zero launches on 29 October. According to Push Square, the PS5 list has 36 trophies, including a Platinum. The reviewer gave the game 9/10 and praised its fast combat.
Trophy hunters can plan now. A short list suggests a manageable platinum, though difficulty may vary.
Fallout Shelter Show Mass: Cyberpunk 2077 Surges on Steam
Cyberpunk 2077 reached 187,215 players on Steam. GameSpot reports that is the biggest peak since October 2023. Edgerunners season two and a large update drove the spike.
This shows how a TV or anime tie-in can revive a game. Fallout proved the same point earlier. Amazon surely noticed.
