Midrange phones, a watch leak and flagship deals
Battery life drives this week’s gadget news. The vivo V80 FE leads a busy set of launches, leaks and discounts.
Each story below stands alone. I have added notes on what each one means for buyers.
vivo V80 FE appears on a retail listing
The vivo V80 FE has surfaced on vivo’s Philippines website, according to GSMArena. The listing hints at a near launch. It also shows the full spec sheet.
Key specs
- MediaTek Dimensity 7400-Turbo chipset
- Up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM
- 7,000mAh battery
- A design close to the standard V80, with one fewer rear camera
The vivo V80 FE trades a camera for value. That is a common move for fan-edition phones. It keeps the look and cuts cost.
The battery is the headline. A 7,000mAh cell should carry most users through two days. LPDDR4X memory is older, but it suits this price tier.
Redmi M100 Pro arrives in China
Redmi quietly launched the M100 Pro in China, as GSMArena reports. The standard M100 came in August with a Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chip and a 7,900mAh battery.
The Pro steps up in several areas:
- Dimensity 7300-Ultra chipset
- Up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage
- Curved 6.67-inch AMOLED display at 120Hz
- Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection
- Under-display fingerprint scanner
- Triple rear cameras
The display and glass stand out for the segment. An in-screen fingerprint reader is also rare at this price. Still, UFS 2.2 storage is a step behind newer standards.
Notably, the Pro appears to carry a smaller battery than the base model’s 7,900mAh. Buyers who care about runtime should check that figure.
Xiaomi Watch S5 41mm leaks with a bigger battery
A leak shows a 41mm version of the Xiaomi Watch S5, GSMArena says. The 46mm model launched months ago.
The new watch has a stainless steel body. It measures 9.9mm thick, up from 9.5mm on the Watch S4 41mm. In return, the battery grows to 590mAh.
That is a fair trade for most wearers. A small watch usually forces short runtime. Extra thickness of 0.4mm is barely noticeable on the wrist.
The S-series runs a proprietary HyperOS rather than Wear OS. As a result, it offers fewer apps but longer battery life. Wrist comfort and runtime matter more to me than app count.
Flagship deals: Oppo, Samsung and Apple
GSMArena’s deals roundup says the Oppo Find X10 and Find X10 Pro Max are now on sale. Amazon UK lists both with a £100 discount.
The Find X10 has a 6.59-inch display and a 7,150mAh battery. It runs the Dimensity 9600M chipset. Its triple rear camera includes two 200MP sensors.
The same report notes sales on the Galaxy S26 series, recent Galaxy foldables and the iPhone 17 lineup. Discounts vary by region, so check local listings.
Pixel 11 and Galaxy S26 get rare price cuts
A second GSMArena piece says the Pixel 11 series is on sale. Google rarely discounts its phones this deeply. The Pixel 11 Pro starts at $800 after a 27% cut.
Pay attention to the memory tiers. The 256GB Pro and Pro XL models carry less RAM than the higher storage options. Moving to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage costs $120 more.
That upgrade makes sense for heavy multitaskers. Casual users can save the money. For wider context on hardware trends, see our look at shrinking phone sales and new Apple hardware.
Which one fits which buyer
- Battery-first shoppers: Look at the vivo V80 FE.
- Display and feature seekers: The Redmi M100 Pro offers the most for the money.
- Small-wrist wearers: Watch for the Xiaomi Watch S5 41mm.
- Camera and power users: Compare the Oppo Find X10 with the Pixel 11 Pro.
If you want a new handset, a power bank (paid link) is a sensible companion for long days. Pair it with a good case too.
Takeaways
Big batteries now define the midrange. Most of these phones pack 7,000mAh or more.
Flagship discounts also give buyers real choices. Compare RAM and storage tiers before you pay.
Finally, treat leaks as provisional. Final specs and prices can change at launch.
